About urban insertions and space discontinuities

Abstract

The problem of urban insertions is still a very current issue, and a very delicate when it comes to architectural value tissue, environmmental or historical ones. The entire professional community, heritage commissions, but also civil society (in the areas where this urban involvement urban experience already exists) tries to find the optimal solution without affecting already established cultural space, and which is still active as potetial value for the city. The questions are simple: how to intervene? Why to intervene?

A tendency would be maintaining continuity of the 19th century city, the city still thoughtas series of grids of built blocks / urban extrude patterns. This kind of city is close to the European soul because of its sense of familiarity of space and buildings, but also because we are used to orient ourselves as citizens of urban space, participating at social and cultural life of the city.

Working with this urban grid proved permissive and robust for the integration of tourism tool, media, new technologies applied to buildings and space tinting details.
