The Mobility as Starting Point in Redefining Relational Human Being - City - Territory

Abstract

In the phenomenological perspective, the sensitive side of man is a primordial reference, and the relation to a specific place is a key element. Ex-territoriality is unthinkable. On the other hand, considering contemporary way of life as being a new one (not by the hasty reporting to better or worse connotations compared to the past) redefining some of the aspects could make us reflect deeply on this subject. Ioana Tudora approaches the ex-territoriality of space from a positive outlook:

"Unravelling towns along highways does not result in the disappearance of urbanity, but rather in a new configuration, and also extreme mobility does not make the individual to be uprooted, on the contrary, they can extend the roots where they find a conducive place .... a new redefinition of the space and a new human being-group-territory relationship finds its resources in a new form of socialization, that ceases to regard exclusively the economic principles, the logical productivity or the spatial hygiene."

Territorial unravelling occurs when the movement between points no longer constitutes a problem. We rediscover the same spaces of the daily pursuit: market, workplace, neighbourhood, leisure they find a new way to set up within the network.

In the same system of thought, block structure and therefore its housing, completes and serves effectively the metropolis functions - unitary body of considerable scale formed of thousands of particles. Therefore, a multitude of living cells adjacent and overlapping belong to a system whose harmony depends directly on the proper functioning of components each performing a stable function in the whole economy.

On a larger scale, the regeneration and the maintenance of the individual cells can ensure the life and functioning of the entire body of the city. The presence of any new such establishments in the city can regenerate an area, in the city life the vitality being forwarded from one unit to another.
