Urban landscape - between "place of memory" and "place of action"

Abstract

Landscape becomes a concept used today in a holistically understanding, as a link and binder between various areas of field, making it one of the major concerns of the Society of Consciousness in the middle of which we live. For the landscape domain, urban, architectural, cultural, historical, anthropological, ethnographic and ethnological, and geographical and ecological, environmental sciences and social sciences, it is a term without which we can define modernity in contemporary concerns of natural, urban and cultural heritage, in the european context.

Study research proposes a new methodology approach in anthropological sense of landscape, as a cultural tool that can radiography a wide range scientific, social and cultural landscape, with direct application of a specific overall site area, settlement or territory. Philosophical-epistemological relationship and loan methods from other domains that lead to diversification of transdisciplinary research, in respect of landscape issues in a variety of meanings, depending on the research and the interdependence of scientific branches hybrids.

The landscape rather surprised at the artistic object or assembly fixed in form of natural heritage, in space and time, defines sacred landscape site by genius loci and conscious design memory of a place, community, person, time or event.

Nowaday, we can interpret the landscape, as a sign of metabolising formation of local cultures and integrate traditions of old urban, anthropological, cultural and social science with contemporary science, renew them as a different language.
