Abstract

The built environment is the product of society. Society can be defined by a series of classifications: size, geographical area, political, artistic, interests and so on. Is it possible to summarize the multitude of references in a single word, space? People shape the space in which they live until a matrix is established. Furthermore, the matrix space is the factor of influence on man, which he will seek to reorganize in the place he occupies and thus outlining a type of urban image. In the consciousness of the Romanian people, the land is a configurative structure synonymous with place and belonging. Each culture can be understood by the sense of space and how it resonates with other types of spaces. In turn, they can be described geometrically, three-dimensionally, or at the level of perceptions, referring to "genius loci". If a certain group of people can be described and understood by belonging in a physical space, then can we explain how this single group acts in urban environment?
