ArgumentNo. 1/2009

Public space temporary privacy

Abstract

The work started under a broad and universally valid concept, both in the arts field in general and in the architecture field in particular; and in terms of current existence – PRIVACY, as part of the individual living and the interpersonal networking.

Purpose and research topics, however, were led towards a particular dimension of intimate events, and namely the stance in which they take place on everyday scene of the contemporary public space.

The first intention of the work title was “Privacy of the built space”.

This idea, however, would be directed the study into a large cluster of lines of approach and, more unpleasant, on the roads trodden before – into some discussions about home universe privacy. Therefore an architectural space dimensions of privacy which had to be unique, should have been sought, even only for the author, for representing a current topic of interest.
