ArgumentNo. 6/2014

Historic urban heritage as sustainable environment

Abstract

Sustainability means using the environmental resources in a manner that does not exhaust them, leaving them as legacy for future generations. In other words, it means using and keeping at the same time.

Although when we speak of resources we generally think of natural products such as wood, oil, etc., it's all about finding a fair balance between economic growth and environmental protection, as well as research into the field of alternative resources. Changing the point of perspective on this topic, would it not be fair to include in the category of „resources” the historic urban heritage?
