The theme of the 18th issue of Argument journal—a publication dedicated to scientific studies and research in the fields of architecture, urban planning, interior design, and related areas—proposes an exploration of time in relation to architecture. The theme invites debates on time from different perspectives: from enduring architecture to ephemeral architecture (a time of survival), from time as a parameter in design, execution, and use to transformed, remodeled, and repurposed architecture (a time of transformation), from architecture contemplated without haste to architecture perceived alertly (a time of perception), and last but not least, from architecture built to last – sustainable, resilient – to architecture that responds to the needs of the moment (a time of adaptation). Regardless of the angle of perception, the invitation remains open to innovative approaches to the relationship between architecture and time, with analyses taking into account the evolution of contemporary society, the rhythm and dynamics of life in relation to the built environment, technical and technological progress, but also unexpected past influences on the architecture of the city over time.
We invite professionals, researchers, academic staff, students and PhD candidates that study disciplines like architecture, interior design, urban planning, landscape design as well as arts, urban geography, sociology, anthropology etc. to submit their original contributions. The papers submitted will have a scientific character and will follow to respond to the evaluation criteria assumed by the journal: quality and coherence, originality, clear structure and method, high scientific discourse.
